This Skilled Nursing and Memory Care center in Dalhart, Texas showcases Rheinlander Architects' commitment to resident-centered design. It incorporates a mix of private and semi-private rooms, multiple courtyards, and scenic lake views, catering to diverse resident preferences while offering a tranquil outdoor environment for all. The Memory Care unit boasts a large open plan with residnet circulation paths, incoporating secluded sitting areas and memory stations throughout, for easier resident navigation and supervision.
Based on a previous working relationship, Rheinlander Architects was recommended to the local Hospital District for this project. We played a crucial role in site selection, working with the City to secure land donation, optimize utility requirements, minimize grading, and reduce infrastructure expenses, all while capitalizing on passive design principles to harness solar and wind, and maximize the property's natural assets. .
The client was particularly excited about how the design incorporated environmental challenges, allowing resident gathering spaces to overlook the lake. This thoughtful approach not only enhanced the living experience for residents but also demonstrated the firm's ability to balance aesthetics with functionality.
